The Catholic Diocese of Hong Kong’s rope skipping fun day sets SDG world record event

All United Nations member states adopted the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in 2015 to eliminate poverty, reduce inequality, and build more peaceful and prosperous societies by 2030. SDGs, also known as Global Goals, call on everyone to take action to create a sustainable world. As world leaders work to fulfill their 2030 commitments, children around the world are speaking out and defending their rights to survival, health, quality education, and a sustainable environment.

On September 25, 2015, Pope Francis delivered a speech at the United Nations Special Summit on Sustainable Development, calling for unprecedented measures to change lives. The Catholic Diocese of Hong Kong responded to the Pope’s call and encouraged Catholic schools to actively participate in the “Building Churches to Honor the Lord, Hundreds of Schools Rope Flying” to create a Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) world record event to promote Sustainable Development Goal 3 “Ensure health and promote health for all ages” “Welfare”, advocates skipping rope to strengthen the body and mind, cultivates children and young people to do regular exercise, and promotes it to families to encourage all ages to pay attention to healthy living and cherish life.
